Our homemade sunburn relief was a big hit, so we thought we’d follow it up with a homemade facial cure. Well, you know that commercial preparations that are made with natural oatmeal are very popular, and very effective. As a point of fact, when my kids had chicken pox (right before the vaccine came out), the commercial oatmeal preparation seemed to give them the best relief! Well, why not use oatmeal as a natural facial? First open your pores with cloth dipped in hot water. Make a paste with oatmeal and apply it to your face. Wear that for 15 minutes, and then wash your face with a cloth dipped in cool water. Many people suggest adding a bit of honey and a raw egg to the mixture. Sounds almost good enough to eat! Well, maybe not the raw egg, but you get the idea. Others suggest milk (full fat, not skim). And, we got a tip to use lemon juice to fade age spots. I think I’ll go try that one!
