Recycle and Re-purpose T Shirts For Daily Living The consumer market sells T-shirts by the tons daily for a good reason, they are inexpensive, and available in any size, type, and color imaginable. The only problem is that most people wear their tees for a short time, and then off to the trash, local donation center, or re-sell shop. You can walk into just about any used clothing store, and buy old v-neck or crew style t-shirts for anywhere from twenty-five cents to a dollar, and at garage sales you can pickup sometimes a dozen or more for just a dollar. Instead of warehousing this particular type of clothing in bins, and closets that usually will be passed over, there are literally dozens of ways to repurpose cotton or other materials used in making t-shirts. If you were raised in 1970s or before you will have remembered your grandparents, or parents using them as dust clothes, media for applying floor, shoe, furniture or automobile wax. Today with the “Green” movement in full swing, people are using their imaginations and coming up with droves of new ideas to re-purpose these shirts in many creative ways. T Shirt Crafts Some crafts people [...]

Is Frugality In? The recession may have bred a new brand of American consumer, or rather anti-consumer. Apparently consumption is out and anti-consumerism is in. We did lose millions of jobs in the past several months, but many people who are adopting a frugal lifestyle still have a steady job which they do not fear losing. But they did lose wealth. Either investments dropped, housing values sank, savings rates plunged, or they certainly knew people who had that experience. Even if the value of assets are starting to climb back up, many Americans got the wake up call, and they are really working on spending less and saving more! This is not all just my opinion, though I am aware of this trend. I see it around me though I live in a middle class to upper middle class suburban area. Yahoo Finance published an AP servey of top US economists which supports this conclusion. Two thirds of American economists, who study consumer behavior agreed that cheap is in! Baby boomers may have been a particularly hard hit group. For most of their working lives, assets climbed at a steady pace. But over the last several years, they lost assets. Wealth [...]

It’s a Towel. It’s a Sponge. It’s ShamWow! Do you know how many trees get cut down every year to provide Americans with paper towels? Well, honestly, neither do I, but I’ll bet it is alot. Beyond the loss of trees, we spend a lot of money on throwaways like paper towels, but going back to rags doesn’t seem like a good solution either. If you’ve seen the ShamWow on TV, you already know that it works like a chamois, towel, or a sponge. Plus, you can throw it in the washing machine and dryer. You can use it around the house, and outside on the car. They can even be bleached! Plus, they come with a 10 year warranty. BUY SHAMWOW ONLINE FOR THE BEST OFFER No related posts.
